18 Things to be Grateful For in 2018
I could just give you a long list of things I am personally thankful for, but that’s not what I am trying to do. Yes, I am personally thankful for my parents and sisters and my loving husband, but this post is not about m
This post is for everybody. Being grateful is vital to remaining positive and getting to a high vibration, which allows you to attract good things into your life.
I’ve suffered from depression before, and from feeling hopeless. There are good days and there are bad days, and on the bad days it can be hard to be grateful for anything. Which is sad, because the bad days are when we need to be the most thankful. I have made this list for those days, or anytime we need to find something to be thankful for- it’s mostly universal, and by focusing on what you have instead of missing everything you don’t, you’re almost guaranteed to lift yourself up!
The 18 things to be thankful for in 2018 are-
Animals. Beautiful, sweet, non-judgmental, innocent animals.
Friends (I don’t even have a ton of close friends, but the two I do have I am thankful for every day).
Our species. Be thankful you were born with consciousness, and not as an insect.
Technology. Almost all of our entertainment and convenience in life relies on it.
The ability to read. Be thankful that you’re able to understand this crazy collection of symbols some people made up centuries ago, and therefore understand this page.
Laughter. Imagine a life where there wasn’t any- and smile, because you can.
Music. Do I even need to explain this one?
Nature. Step outside and appreciate the weather, the trees and grass and air that breathes life into so much. The complexity of it all and that you get to enjoy it is definitely something to thank the universe for.
Beds. Way better than sleeping on the floor. Don’t believe me? Try it for a week.
Dessert. Could you imagine a world where no one discovered sugar or chocolate? I am always thankful for Hershey’s.
Education. We have the ability to learn ANYTHING. Our brains are always ready for it. That’s how we learn to be thankful in the first place.
Emotion. We may not feel it all the time, but human beings have a great capacity for love, humor, happiness, motivation, and much more. It’s all within us.
Coffee. Okay, this may be a personal one. If you prefer some other life-saving beverage, just pretend I listed that instead.
Eyesight. So much of our perception of the world comes from our ability to process information we see. Be thankful for the color, the textures you take in, the amazing sights you can see- all of it.
Our bodies. Humans are extremely complex individuals and you just happen to be able to talk, think, breathe, sing, sense, and so much more- because of the way our bodies are made. It’s doing a lot of work right this second, so take care of it, okay?
Our uniqueness. We could have all been born the same. We could all have looked the same, talked the same, and have the same type of thoughts and personalities. But we don’t. We are unique, we have traits that mix together to create our consciousness and appearance, and it makes us different from everyone else. Be thankful for that.
Fire. Both the physical flame and the metaphorical one. Without fire, there wouldn’t have been heat, and our species would’ve died off a long time ago, and without passion, without the fire inside ourselves, so would our drive to create, to improve, to do better. Be thankful for your flame, for your warmth and your drive. It will move you.
Finally: be thankful for each other. Sometimes people may tap dance on your last nerve, but without them, you probably wouldn’t have come this far. Humans need other humans to survive- it’s been proven that without human connection, we aren’t much of anything. We learn from each other, help each other in one way or another, and grow together. Be thankful you inhabit a planet full of us, cause whether you like it or not, we really do need each other.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Bookmark/share/save this page for your records, for something to return to when you don’t know what you may have to be happy about, or to be thankful for. I will be saving it, too.
Until next time,
